I wonder if you could try installing it on your machine via that to try it out. I have the free trial -- the one from April. But since that time they changed the requirements to Catalina used to be Sierra and above. The free trial doesn't have a purchase option -- it just tells you to go to the store to buy Logic Pro.
There aren't many where this happens but there are some. I suppose they have you re-download the entire thing instead of updating the demo version to the licensed version.
I had to install High Sierra on and older laptop and finding how to get the installer was a pain. It may not be helpful but I have several Macs with different versions of Logic on each. The one that has High Sierra is stuck with Logic Jangus Posted July 13, Posted July 13, edited.
